Cleaning

You don’t have to spend loads of money on house hold cleaners! We use three basic cleaning solutions for our WHOLE house. Distilled white vinegar, bleach, and alcohol (rubbing that is😜). Baking soda on occasion for stains (the high chair sees a lot of that 😄). I use spray bottles for each. For our vinegar solution, I mix about 3/4 vinegar with 1/4 water. I don’t dilute the bleach or alcohol.

I swear I use our vinegar cleaner for just about everything! Bathrooms, kitchen, floors; look up some vinegar cleaning uses, you will be amazed! It’s acid kills bacteria and viruses while still being gentle enough for our little ones! It’s also pretty budget friendly, which is great for us everyday house wives! Plus, it’s “all natural”, who doesn’t love those two little words?

My new obsession is essential oils! Aside from the awesome health benefits, they can be used as a disinfectant as well! Put a couple drops of your favorite oil into your vinegar solution for an even better clean or make your own spray with thieves oil and water!

Another thing that we do is make our own laundry detergent. It costs about 28 dollars to make but instead of buying a new container of laundry detergent every month we only make a new batch about every 6 months! It saves us a little money, we don’t have to worry about getting laundry detergent all the time, and it’s kind of a fun thing to do! Recipe Below:

• Box of Borax (4lb 12oz)
• Box of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda (3lb 7oz)
• Container of OxiClean (3lb)
• Box of Zote Soap – already shaved (17.6oz)
• Box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda (4lbs)
• Bottle of Purex Crystals – we use the ones for baby since Aubrey uses it too☺️ – (28 oz)

Just mix it all together and give it a go! Don’t throw away the scooper in your OxiClean container, that’s what we use to scoop our detergent!

Ya gotta love granny’s saying, “we didn’t get to where we are in this life by wasting things!” So, I try to up cycle as much as I can. We love oranges around here, probably the Florida kids in us! So what do we do with those orange peels once were done eating them? Two things! We soak them in.. take a guess! Yup, vinegar! They make great scrubs to clean your sinks and bathtubs. You can also use them to get rid of that odor in your sinks garbage disposal (throw an ice cube or two in there, they will help sharpen the blades!) Just put your peels into a mason jar and put them in the freezer. Anytime your garbage disposal needs a good refreshening, throw one in there!

We were blessed with everything we have by God, I believe keeping our possessions clean in a way honors Him!

{Proverbs 27:23-24 Look after your sheep and cattle as carefully as you can, because wealth is not permanent. Not even nations last forever.}

As always, happy Wednesday!
