Verse of the Week 03•29•15

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven; a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

{It is said that King Solomon wrote the book of Ecclesiastes. Much wisdom is taught in Ecclesiastes and the importance of a relationship with God.}

Although we do not, God already knows the plan He has for all of us. I think what King Solomon was trying to convey here was that every single thing, including the bad, comes together in the end; just in Gods timing. Know that whatever we face, He is bigger! Happy Sunday! ❤️

“It’s not who you are underneath but what you do that defines you.” – Bruce Wayne

That phrase may be a little debatable but you get the point!

Think about some different times in your life; the highs and the lows. Who were you involved with in those times? Who has had big impacts in your life? We need to be very cautious on who we hang around with because those people are the people that we will become. Their actions will ultimately end up influencing ours. These people have all shaped us into who we are today. We have, “been there done that,” and learned some important lessons along the way.

I know that some of my lowest points in life came from hanging around the wrong people. Now, I’m not blaming them. My actions were completely my decision but if I had made a more responsible choice to be hanging around different people the consequences I endured may have been a little less harsh.

People aren’t the only things that influence us. The things we watch on tv, the music we listen to, even the apps we download have an impact on us as well. How about instead of the upgraded version of the newest game; you download The Bible, a daily devotion, or Daystar. We need to be careful what we expose ourselves to. Like the saying we heard when we were little; be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, and be careful little hands what you touch.

Let’s begin to let Jesus be our influencer in life. I heard a song the other day that I thought fit so perfectly with this weeks topic! The chorus lyrics and link to listen are below.

Give Me Your Eyes by Brandon Heath

Give me Your eyes for just one second
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me Your love for humanity
Give me Your arms for the broken-hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me Your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me Your eyes so I can see

If the little voice inside you isn’t approving of what you’re doing or who you’re with, listen to it! Chances are it’s the Holy Spirit speaking to you. Just let Him be your influencer in everything you do. He is the way, the truth, and the life!

{Proverbs 3:6 – In all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.}

Stay tuned in for next week! We will be discussing organization. Happy Wednesday!

DIY Party Decor & Recipes!

Guess who turned the big one year today?! Yes, you nailed it! Princess Aubrey! Of course a fab party was a must. Just wanted to share a few things we did!

We made our own cupcakes and smash cake. Not to brag or anything but for my first cake it didn’t turn out ya know, horrible… These definitely aren’t the most healthy but I mean come on, the kid made it a year! Seeing as how I can hardly keep a fern alive, this was definitely an indulging moment. We did use organic eggs and almond milk, does that count? 😂

1/2 cup of butter
2/3 cup of sugar
3 eggs
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups of flour
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup of milk
couple drops food coloring

4 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
2 sticks of butter
couple drops food coloring

Center Pieces:
Mason Jars
Flower Pedals

Fill your mason jars with flower pedals (leave the rim on). Tie a bow around the top with your twine and glue a button in the middle of the bow! Perfect for balloon holders! 💕🎀

Cake Stand:
Small Decorative Glass (I used an ice cream sherbet glass – you could also use a candle stick holder)
Fabulous Plate

Glue the smaller end of your glass on to the middle bottom of your plate. Voila! Fab cake stand! 🍰

Enjoy partying! Happy Tuesday to all my ladies! Stay tuned in for tomorrow!

Verse of the Week 03•22•15

Romans 8:28

And we know, that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.

{Romans is one of the thirteen epistles Paul wrote. To summarize this “chapter,” he is saying salvation is offered to you only through Jesus.}

This verse puts my spirit at ease! How amazing is it that God loves us for us, despite our faults! He knows we love Him and because of that His works are alive in our lives. Keep on keepin on ladies! Happy Sunday! ❤️

Be The Good

Be the good in the world that you want to see! I don’t have too much to say on this topic, it’s a pretty simple concept but such an important one!

With everything going on in the world, you always wonder are there any good people still out there?! Turning on the news and almost all of the reports are murders, robberies, political issues; the list is endless! Well yes, there are still good people out there and chances are, if you’re reading this, then you are probably one of them! The goodness comes from us, from our hearts. We need to grasp ahold of it and utilize it!

I want to present a challenge to all of us; the RAOK (Random Acts of Kindness) challenge! Let’s try and do at least one kind thing for another person every week. I believe it’s a blessing to be able to bless others. There’s a link below for some neat ideas!

Shoutout to that awesome Momma! ⬆️

Two questions for us to ponder on this subject are; if not us, then who? And if not now, when?

I don’t want Aubrey, or any of our kids, growing up thinking these things we hear about and see in the news are normal. It is real life but it is NOT normal. We need to show our children the righteous way to live; so they too may grow up to show their children and continue the cycle! There’s too much hate and evil in the world. We need to find the good within us and be that for those around us!

God bless y’all!
